K9 Officer Corona is handled by Officer Dylan Wilson. Officer Wilson and Corona are the current K9 unit. 

Corona is a 2 year old Dutch Shepherd. She was born in the Netherlands and then imported to the US by Kasseberg Kanine in New Market, Alabama. She was purchased by the Yankton Police Department in the Summer of 2021. 

Officer Wilson and Corona completed an 8 week drug detection training course. They then completed an 8 week patrol class. The patrol class consists of criminal apprehension, tracking, building searches, handler protection, area searches, and evidence recovery. 

Officer Wilson and K9 Corona patrol the streets of Yankton together and have been involved in several drug arrests, vehicle seizures, currency seizures, apprehension of wanted suspects and aid to other agencies. K9 Corona is a valuable partner to the Yankton Police Department.
