City Commissioners, City of Yankton department directors with input from members of the community have developed the new 2022-2025 strategic plan.  The plan affirms organizational and community values, charts the direction of the community looking out 3 years, and set priorities and actions.   The facilitated process also helped define the vision of the organization for the community and updated the City of Yankton’s mission statement which is:

To provide exemplary experiences, services, & spaces, that create opportunities for everyone to learn, engage, and thrive.

On-going reevaluation of priorities and resources is a part of all goal implementation processes.  The projects and activities outlined during this process will have to be regularly reexamined and rethought as time passes and change occurs in the community.
