Why should kids get all the fun? Let’s take an adult field trip! Come into Yankton Community Library to sign up for a day out in Niobrara, NE. Participants will meet at the Ponca Educational Trail and Museum 9 miles southwest of Niobrara Village. After we tour the earth lodge and view the Standing Bear monument, we can stop in the museum and gift shop and see the newly unveiled Standing Bear Tomahawk. After a break for lunch, we will meet up at Niobrara Museum, where we can view the displays and hear some history about the town and how it moves with time!
After the museum, participants are free to go take in some additional sites around Niobrara, including an art exhibit at the local library and town hall building or take in some nature at the Niobrara State Park. It is bridge days in Niobrara, so there is sure to be more fun to be had if you choose to explore more. We can’t wait to share this adventure with you during our Yankton Community Library adventure summer!
This program is free and registration is required. Participants are responsible for travel and food costs.
