Basic Yoga Workshop

  • Introduction: In this free workshop taught by Rebecca Johnson, you will learn the basics of a modern yoga practice in a safe environment.

Are you looking for a way to improve your health and overall well-being?  The benefits of yoga are numerous, including stress management, improvement in heart health, reduction of cholesterol, improved circulation and lowered blood pressure.  Practicing yoga also improves balance, strength, flexibility and posture.  The Summit Activities Center is offering workshops for all members and guests interested in learning the basics of yoga on Saturday, November 5 and Saturday, December 17, 2016 from 9:00-11:15 AM.  

In this free workshop taught by Rebecca Johnson, you will learn the basics of a modern yoga practice in a safe environment.  After attending this workshop, students will feel confident walking into their first, all-levels yoga class at the Summit Activities Center.  This workshop is appropriate for new students or those wanting a refresher in the basics.  Students will learn basic poses, proper alignment for a safer yoga experience, simple breathing exercises and guided relaxation at the conclusion of the workshop.  Yoga mats are available to borrow. Please bring a blanket, a water bottle and wear comfortable clothing.
